My work is a compilation of figurative drawings and paintings. The paintings include portraits of women at all stages in life, exploring the feminine aspect of such fleeting concepts as life, age, culture, beauty and gender.
Lately, through my drawings, I have found the need to explore the concept of Latino American immigration and migration in the United States. These drawings are worked with compressed charcoal, charcoal pencils, charcoal powder and graphite on different surfaces, canvas, wood and paper. I work in my drawings in a painterly manner due to my training as a painter. My artwork could vary in scale; I can easily work from very small to mural size projects, depending on the idea.
